To be one of the world’s outstanding zoological institutions.

Inspiring others to join us in caring for animals and conserving the natural world.

	This mission will be accomplished by meeting the following objectives:

	•	Providing excellent animal care
	•	Providing a long-term refuge for rare and endangered species
	•	Advancing and disseminating scientific knowledge of animals and habitats, and their conservation
	•	Engaging our visitors in fun, educational experiences that connect them to animals and their environments
	•	Practicing, advocating for and educating about wise resource use
	•	Optimizing the use of our conservation resources to engage in species and habitat preservation and restoration efforts with measurable outcomes
