The
Toledo Zoo is now happy to provide Homeschoolers with a unique,
interactive, year-long program! You and your children can explore
the wonderful world of animal groups with in-depth, hands-on lessons!
This specially designed curriculum will provide your children with
an in-depth look at all of the unique animals that live in our oceans,
rivers and lakes! Your child will discover different animals, their
adaptations, the habitats they call home and the diverse cultures
that interact with them. We’ll also look at how the animal’s
ecosystems are being affected today, and what can be done to help
preserve their wonderful habitats! Classes will be conducted in
both a classroom and on Zoo grounds. All of the programs are developed
for a particular age group and include animal encounters, interaction
with Toledo Zoo Staff, and the utilization of bio-facts to complement
each month’s lesson. Classes will include opportunities for
the children to participate in art activities, journaling, on grounds
visits, experiments and other hands-on, minds-on activities. In
addition, each lesson has been designed in conjunction with the
National Science Education Standards. So add some adventure to your

Underwater
Wonders ! Will be offered the third Wednesday and
Friday of each month from September through May. There may be months
that are not the third week due to holidays, etc. Some Friday dates
are the 4th Friday of the month due to the first of that month falling
late in the week. So please refer to the dates listed below and
put them on your calendars. The times are as follows:
PreK/K - 10:15-11:15 a.m.
Gr. 1 & 2 - 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Gr. 3-6 - 12:45 - 1:45 p.m.
Gr. 7-12 - 12:45 -1:45 p.m.

Program
Guidelines:

A
minimum of 10 students for each class is required. The Toledo
Zoo reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient
enrollment. We will contact you one week prior to class if it
is cancelled. |

The
fee for all programs is $8 for members and $13 for non-members
per student per class. Program fees do not incude admission
to The Toledo Zoo, which must be paid separately at the Zoo's
main entrance. |

Class
size is limited to 20 students, and registration is on a first-come-first-served
basis. |

Classes
begin promptly at their scheduled times. Please respect this
as it is extremely difficult to locate your child’s class
on grounds or on a tour once the class has begun. Please make
sure you leave enough time to travel to the Zoo and walk to
your classroom. There will be no late admittance.

Registration
is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted. |

The
curriculum may be purchased for an additional fee of $95 per
grade level. |
