you plan your zoo visit, schedule some time for a lively EdZOOcation
program.
Meet a variety
of animals and touch some interesting biofacts (skulls, hides, teeth)!
These
30-45 minute programs are conducted by Zoo staff
and trained volunteers.
All programs are free for Lucas County
schools and organizations.
There is a $10.00 fee for schools and organizations outside of Lucas
County.
Additional classes are $5.00 each.
These
programs are offered in a grade/age appropriate format and are designed
to help educators achieve the new state standards for science education.
There may be
an additional fee for certain types of special programs.
When
the EdZOOcation programs are used in conjunction with our activity
sheets, Discovery Boxes and our other services, the students have
fun while they learn important scientific concepts.

If you have a topic in mind, but don't see it listed, please call
and ask about it.
We are happy to develop special programs if they are scheduled six
weeks in advance.

- this ensures a group rate admission into the Zoo!

Programs are offered from 10:30-3:00p.m. Tuesday through
Saturday.

be scheduled at least two weeks in advance,
but we recommend scheduling your EdZOOcation program
as far in advance as possible.

you are more than 10 minutes late, your program will
be forfeited and no refund will be given. |

Please
call if for any reason you are unable to keep your scheduled
program time. A fee of $10.00 will be charged to any
group that cancels a program fewer than five school days
before the scheduled date or fails to attend the scheduled
program. (exceptions include school closings or delays
due to inclement weather and other emergencies beyond
the control of the teacher.) |
