Beautiful annuals and perennials will be available to purchase at the Zoo's Anthony Wayne Trail entrance from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*

*No Zoo admission necessary to enjoy the Plant Sale. Parking in the Anthony Wayne Trail lot is FREE until noon.

Also enjoy Master Gardner Talks, showing everyday gardeners how to create curb appeal, beautiful landscapes and patio containers like a pro.**

Scheduled tours of the Zoo's gardens will also be available with question & answer opportunities and expert advice.**

Master Gardener Talks:
All Master Gardener Talks are free with Zoo admission and will take place in the Indoor Theatre.

11:00 a.m. - "Creating a Stunning Shade Garden"
Kathy Shortridge will discuss the four types of shade and make recommendations for bulbs, perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs that thrive in the shade.

Kathy has been a Master Gardener since 2000. She is a long-time vegetable, perennial and annual gardener. She grows about 300 varieties of hosta as well as numerous shade-loving plants in her home landscape.

1:00 p.m. - "Creating Charming Container Gardens"
Deb Johnson will demonstrate how to pull together a container garden. She will discuss different types of containers, equipment and tools needed to plant a container garden, as well as soil preparation. She will also discuss a variety of plants that do well in containers and how to care for plants once they are planted.

Deb is an active member of the Maumee Valley Herb Society and has been a Master Gardener since 2001.

3:00 p.m. - "Basic Landscaping for Curb Appeal"
Pat Sands will discuss the basic principles of design, plant selection and good horticulture practices when planning and installing landscaping for your front yard.

Pat has been a Master Gardener for 11 years and has an Associates Degree in Horticulture from Owens Community College.

Garden Tours:
All Garden Tours are free with Zoo admission. Please meet in the Rose Garden 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour time.

12:00 p.m. - This guided tour through the gardens will include shade plants and early blooming perennials.

2:00 p.m. - This guided tour through the gardens will include recommendations for creating a beautiful butterfly garden.

The garden tours will be conducted by Lori Fenton, a Certified Nursery Technician and Master Gardener.
