Other Winter Events

February 29
Leap Day

Join The Toledo Zoo as we jump into the Year of the Frog - a year-long elebration with zoos and aquariums nation-wide promoting amphibian conservation.

On Friday, February 29, representatives from Toledo City Council and the Lucas County Commissioners will be on hand to help The Toledo Zoo kick off the Year of the Frog. In addition, our Leap Day celebration will feature animal demonstrations, activities and more.

The Leap Day celebrations are just the beginning of the Zoo’s amphibian-related activities. On May 16, the Zoo’s new Amazing Amphibians exhibit will open, offering visitors a close-up look at fascinating frogs, as well as salamanders and caecilians. Many of the Zoo’s activities throughout the year, from EdZOOcation classes to the annual ZOOtoDO event, will spotlight frogs.
