Full-time Positions we are currently hiring for:

Maintenance Technician

Primary responsibilities include preventative maintenance and minor repair of zoo vehicles and equipment, buildings and structures. Includes painting, basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry work, assists in maintaining animal exhibit filtration systems, HVAC systems, provide snow removal and general labor. Works independently and with Maintenance Tech I, also performs other duties as directed.

Must have problem solving & analytical skills and the capability to work in a team environment with other employees. Must possess basic computer skills, having the ability to operate an electronic work order system. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and be familiar with common maintenance materials and tools through previous work/schooling with general mathematics capabilities. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Zoo’s fleet insurance carrier. The Zoo is an Equal Opportunity Employer and drug & alcohol free workplace.

Seasonal part-time positions we are currently hiring for:

Catering

Catering Food Production: Employees prepare food for a variety of in-house catered events.
Positions: Picnics, Box lunches, Weddings, Dinner Parties
Job Functions: Dishwashers, Cold Prep, Hot Prep, Grill, Clean-up


Catering: Responsible for taking care of the client(s) and running catered events.
Positions: Banquets, Picnics, Dinners, Weddings
Job Functions: Set-up, Clean-Up, Tear-Down, Servers, Bartenders

Food Service

Carnivore Cafe: Employees of the Cafe provide fast, friendly service in a cafeteria-style setting.
Positions: Grill, Hospitality, Deli, Cooler
Job Functions: Cleanup, Cook, Servers, Cashier, Food Prep


Concessions: Fast-paced food service with high visitor interaction and accurate cash handling.
Positions: Concession stands, Birthday parties, Vending
Job Functions: Customer service, Food Prep, Cashier, Cleaning

Grounds

Roamers: Roamers continually walk the property to clean up the litter, pull trash, clean trash cans and graphics. Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 to apply.
Job Functions: Clean-up, Trash collection

Merchandise

Merchandise: Employees assist visitors with merchandise selections, provide outstanding customer .service, and accurate cash handling.
Positions: Gift Shop, Gift Carts, Rentals, Photo Opportunities, Caricature Artists
Job Functions: Stocking, Cashier, Cleaning, Customer Service

Park Operations

Park Operations: Employees take care of a variety of visitor needs throughout the zoo.
Outstanding customer service a must!
Positions: Admissions, Parking, Rides, Patio Roamers, Greeters, Cashiers, Ride Operator
Job Functions: Picnic area clean-up, Concert/Event set-up and clean-up, Parking attendant

To apply for a position at the Toledo Zoo, pick up an application at our Visitor Services office which is located at the main entrance off Anthony Wayne Trail. The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply for a position, unless the posted job states differently.
