When visiting the Toledo Zoo you probably enjoy seeing your favorite animals, but have you ever marveled at the lush landscapes, strolled through our beautiful gardens, or noticed an exotic species of plant, flower, shrubs, or trees? Our Garden Tour series allows you to meet and learn from the zoo professionals who make it all happen—our Horticulture staff!
Tours are free with Zoo admission. Pre-registration for these summer tours is not necessary unless indicated; just meet at the Zoo’s Conservatory at 10:30 a.m. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.

A horticulturist discusses the advantages of native gardening, including trees, shrubs and perennials, along with growing requirements and cultural practices.
Water Gardening

Join a Master Gardener/Zoo horticulturist team to learn about hardy and non-hardy plants to include in your water garden, along with maintenance, containers, pumps, filtration and more.
Africa! Plants
