A day dedicated to our small buggy friends!
Come out to Nature’s Neighborhood for Butterfly & Bug Festival!
Saturday, August 30
Visit Nature’s Neighborhood from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a day of fun, all dedicated to the little creatures that creep and crawl and float and flutter! Our Science Day series invites you to experience our fun, hands-on science activities that engage kids in a wide range of scientific realms.
If you know a child who likes bugs or butterflies, this is the place to be. The award-winning Nature’s Neighborhood offers innovative, child-centered teaching through real-life science that is so fun, the kids won’t realize they’re learning.
The Butterfly & Bug Festival is free with regular Zoo admission.
We have two special guests – BUGMAN & Imagination Station!
First, visit Imagination Station in the Home Sweet Home Kitchen and learn how science is amazing, especially when you can take simple household items and create something beautiful. Try your hand at creating a chromatography butterfly, using a coffee filter, markers and H2O!
Then swing by the Workshop to visit our friend from Columbus – BUGMAN! He will have his special collection of live insects and specimens on hand for you to get up close to these amazing creatures.
