The cheetah.
The Karner blue butterfly.
The Aruba Island rattlesnake.
The Kihansi spray toad.
The Puerto Rican crested toad.
The polar bear.

They’re six very special species, all facing very uncertain futures. That’s why The Toledo Zoo has partnered with organizations around the world to make sure that they live on in the wild. It’s all part of a new program we call Conservation Today (formerly the ARC Fund).

In the coming months you’ll start noticing our new Conservation Today emblem at many of your favorite exhibits, on grounds, and in our gift shops. It’s our way of unifying all of our various conservation projects with which we’re involved under one umbrella program. We’re also letting our visitors know that their purchases are making a difference in the lives of countless animals around the world.

Conservation Today replaces the ARC Fund (Animal Rescue and Conservation Fund). Contributors to the former ARC Fund will now see the new name and emblem when receiving donor invitations and other mail pieces to support our program. Funds generated through Conservation Today help support several species, including the cheetah and the amphibian crisis.

You can support Conservation Today in a variety of ways:

    • put some change in the wishing wells or coin collector boxes located on Zoo       grounds
    • toss a coin into the fountains located at Westfield Franklin Park Mall
    • purchase select products in the North Star Trading Post®
    • add a buck to any retail purchase
    • give an additional donation with your membership renewal
    • make a direct gift via email, through our annual appeal each fall, or use our       printable donation form.

Thank you for your support for the Zoo’s conservation efforts!
