Purchasing an Annual Pass

You can join the Zoo through any of the following methods:
Annual Pass pricing is based upon where the person purchasing the Annual Pass lives. The Zoo’s differential pricing structure is meant to give a financial discount to residents living in Lucas County since they are supporting us through the county levy; therefore, if the gift purchaser lives in Lucas County, then they will receive the discount reserved for Lucas County residents.
Toledo Zoo gift cards cannot be used to purchase a Annual Pass online or by phone, but they can be used when purchasing an Annual Pass on Zoo grounds at the Membership Sales window located in the Anthony Wayne Trail entry plaza.
If you prefer not use your personal credit card, you can purchase a pre-paid major credit card at most supermarkets, banks, and convenience stores which can be used just like a credit card for online ordering. Please note the Toledo Zoo takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When our check-out forms ask users to enter sensitive information it is encrypted for maximum protection with industry-standard SSL encryption software. Annual Pass Levels

We offer four Annual Pass categories: Dual, One Adult Family, Senior Grandparent and Family. Click here for Annual Pass categories, benefits and prices. Lucas County residents receive a discount on the purchase of an Annual Pass due to their ongoing support of the Zoo through the county levy.
A Family Annual Pass would need to be purchased. A Senior Grandparent Annual Pass cannot be purchased because this category requires that both names listed be grandparents and that one grandparent always to be present when Annual Pass is used.
A Dual Annual Pass allows free admission for two named adults living in the same household, OR one named adult and a guest (member must choose which option at time of enrollment). If only one adult is listed on the Annual Pass card, then a guest (adult or child) will be allowed free admission with them on each visit; if you name two adults living in the same household, the Annual Pass is limited to the named adults only.

Annual Pass Benefits

Unlike LBC, which is a well-established 30+ year community and family tradition, Luminous Nights is a brand new event that we are treating just like our other on-grounds special events. Therefore, Annual Pass holders do not receive free admission, but do receive a $3 discount on each ticket ($4 if purchased online). Annual Pass holders also receive free parking for one vehicle in the Anthony Wayne Trail Parking lot. Children and grandchildren of Annual Pass holders will also receive the child rate for children ages 2 – 20 (instead of ages 2 – 11).
No, you will not have reciprocity with other AZA member institutions, early notice and purchase of Live Nation concert tickets, Toledo Zoo discounts on education programs and gift shop merchandise purchases or other benefits associated with a Toledo Zoo & Aquarium membership. If you wish to receive these benefits, you will need to purchase a membership instead of an Annual Pass.
Annual Passes are valid for one year. For example, if you purchase an Annual Pass on November 15 of the current year, your Annual Pass will be valid until December 1 of the following year, and will still be honored on December 1 of the following year.
No. A Family Annual Pass admits two adults, children under the age of 21 living at home, and your unmarried grandchildren under the age of 21. One of the cardholders must be present for the card to be used. If you would like to bring a guest/s with you to the Zoo, you will need to upgrade to one of our membership levels where guests can be added.
No. An Annual Pass is valid only for free admission and parking at the Toledo Zoo. If you would like reciprocal zoo benefits, you will need to purchase a Zoo membership.
The Toledo Zoo grants free parking for one vehicle in the Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot. Parking is subject to availability. Please note that you must be a current Annual Pass holder to receive free parking. Your vehicle can only park in one space; if more than one space is needed an additional fee will be charged.
No, only visitors who are current Annual Pass holders receive free parking for one vehicle in the Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot. Once you enroll, your parking will be free from that point on.
No, you will not lose any time if you renew your Annual Pass prior to your expiration date; your expiration date will simply be extended for one additional year. As a conservation organization the Zoo encourages pass holders to renew early and to renew online if possible to decrease the need for paper renewal notices to be printed and mailed.
Yes, Annual Pass holders receive unlimited visits Monday through Thursday and one free weekend visit Friday through Sunday. Your visit will be recorded at the admission gate. Please note that your family members must attend together.

Annual Pass Policies

Yes. Simply send your caregiver with your Annual Pass and a note granting permission to use your pass to bring your children to the Zoo. If you have your pass in a digital format, simply print a copy of your digital pass, or send a screenshot of the pass to your caregiver and have them present the pass on their phone along with your permission note and their identification. Please note that only one caregiver is granted free admission and only your children. This policy is only applicable to Dual, One Adult Family, and Family pass holders. Caregiver will be asked to present identification.
No. A Toledo Zoo & Aquarium Annual Pass can only be used by one household. Pass holders will be asked to present a picture ID showing their name and current address for verification. The Annual Pass cardholder must be present whenever the Annual Pass is used.
No. An Annual Pass is non-transferable and non-refundable. A picture ID is requested at the admission gate when presenting your Annual Pass card. The Annual Pass cardholder must be present whenever the Annual Pass is used.
With a Senior Grandparent Annual Pass, it is our policy that both pass holders listed on the card be grandparents and one grandparent must always be present when the card is used; therefore the Annual Pass card cannot be given to an adult child or the grandchild to use.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult 16 or older. Children age 12 to 20 years old living in the household may use the card with a note from their parent and some form of identification (driver’s license or school ID). Children cannot use the card to bring guests outside of the family.
Annual Pass holders cannot substitute a friend or relative for a named cardholder. Your Toledo Zoo Annual Pass has a tremendous value. Each Annual Pass is designed for a specified set of individuals – it is not an open-ended admission card. By naming each adult and requiring them to show a picture ID, we are protecting the integrity of the Annual Pass and the benefits associated with it. If you wish to bring a friend or relative to the Zoo, you may want to consider upgrading to a Zoo membership level where guests can be added.
Replacement Annual Passes for printed cards may be purchased for a nominal fee of $8.00. Click here for a list of options, including purchasing a replacement card online. Replacement cards can only be requested for current Annual Passes. If there are changes to be made on the replacement card, please specify them in the additional comments section of the order form. Toa void losing your Annual Pass and paying a replacement fee, please consider downloading your Annual Pass in a digital format by going to card.toledozoo.org and following the instructions.
You may remove and replace a named Annual Pass holder only once per year. Changes can be submitted online by clicking here. You can also bring your Annual Pass to the Membership Sales window located in the Anthony Wayne Trail entry plaza between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to update your information. Please note that once your information is updated with a new name, your former card cannot be used.
As a nonprofit, we depend upon contributions and attendance revenue for support. In order to prevent misuse of Zoo Annual Pass benefits, and to protect our pass holders in case their card has been lost or stolen, a picture ID is required for each adult listed on the Annual Pass.
