The Garden Tour Series – bringing people and plants together
Join one of the Zoo’s horticulturists for this garden tour series. Each tour will focus on specific gardening topics including, growing vegetables, water gardening, using native plants in the landscape and much more. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to gardening, there will be something for you to learn and apply to your own gardening projects.
Tours 90 minutes, rain or shine
10:30 a.m. – noon
Cost: $15 – members receive $5 discount
Maximum: 20 people

The Garden Tour Series 2017 Schedule:
Come join us for a garden tour where you will discover the enjoyment of adding natives to your garden. As with all plants, natives have specific requirements to grow healthy and thrive. Discover which native plants might be right for you and learn how to make a maintainable and attractive landscape.

If you have ever wanted to know how to grow roses at home then this is the tour for you. Taking place in the Sara A. Coley Rose Garden, the tour will focus on practices and techniques you need to know to keep your roses vigorous and blooming all season long.

Learn how to bring the joy of gardening to even the smallest spaces on this tour of the Zoo’s container gardens. We will share our thoughts and ideas on container choices, soil mixes, plant combinations and fertilizing to help you design your own colorful creations.
