How do I apply?

To apply for a seasonal or part-time position at the Toledo Zoo, please fill out an application. You can press the button below to download a PDF version of the part-time and seasonal application to print at home and fill out. Applications can be emailed to resume@toledozoo.org. You can also pick up an application at our Visitor Services office which is located at the main entrance off Anthony Wayne Trail. The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply for a position, unless the posted job states differently. In some cases a resume may also be requested for certain open positions (see individual job postings for details).

Seasonal positions begin in the April/May timeframe and end in the August/September timeframe. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Positions may require working in all weather conditions, the ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk extensively on Zoo grounds.

Front of House Catering Crew (Seasonal) – The Toledo Zoo is accepting applications for Front of House Catering Staff. Employees are responsible for the set up and tear down as well as management of catered Zoo events that could include banquets, picnics, weddings, special member events, public events, concerts and other catered events. Looking to hire servers and bartenders. Applicants must be available to work weekday events as well as some evening and weekend events. Catering, restaurant and food service experience a plus. Bartender candidates must be 21 years of age.

Horticulture (Seasonal) – Horticulture staff maintain all of the permanent landscapes and include mowing, weeding, watering, fertilizing, mulching, planting and maintaining the annual flower beds, rake leaves, and maintain ornamental water features. They also assist with the installation and removal of the holiday lights for the Lights Before Christmas display. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.

Warehouse Crew(Seasonal) – Employees are responsible for stocking shelves, unloading shipments and conducting pickup and deliveries on and off Zoo grounds. Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds, be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
