How do I apply?
To apply for a position at the Toledo Zoo, pick up an application at our Visitor Services office which is located at the main entrance off Anthony Wayne Trail. The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply for a position, unless the posted job states differently. In some cases a resume may also be requested for certain open positions (see individual job postings for details).

Full-time Positions we are currently hiring for:
Assistant Adventure Course and Amusement Manager
Under general supervision, oversees seasonal Challenge Course and Park Operations staff for the Zoo ensuring the best possible guest experiences. Assists the Park Operations Manager in the management and review of activities associated with the Toledo Zoo’s Aerial Adventure Course, Zip Line, Amusement Rides and Special Projects. Primary responsibility will be the daily management of the Aerial Adventure Course and Zip line with priority being guest safety and satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Park Operations Manager. Develops and writes standard operating procedures ensuring the Challenge Course and Park Operation teams are set up for success while delivering the best possible guest experience with a priority of risk management. Supervises all Challenge Course, Zip line and Amusement employees which involves instructing; assigning and reviewing work; planning; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; training new seasonal employees; allocating personnel; acting on employee problems; selecting new employees; and recommending transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions and salary increases. Interacts and communicates with subordinates, co-workers, immediate supervisor, supervisors in other departments, maintenance personnel, visitors, vendors, inspectors, etc. Coordinates and monitors inventory of equipment and tools ensuring they are in proper working condition and researches and analyses current trends in the Aerial Challenge, Zip line and Amusement industries to ensure that the Toledo Zoo stays current with pricing and offerings in order to remain competitive while maximizing guest spending. Will assist Park Operations Manager with the shoulder seasons with the management of special events such as Lights before Christmas.
Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality / tourism or other related study with at least two years’ experience in adventure tourism management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in ride operations management preferred. Prefer a minimum of 400 logged hours of ‘working at height’ with height rescue training. ACCT Practitioner Certification preferred. Current CPR, First Aid and AED Certification preferred or ability to obtain such certification within 6 months of employment. Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.

Employees prepare food for a variety of in-house catered events.

Employees of the Cafe provide fast, friendly service in a cafeteria-style setting.
