From professional kites to rocket science, experience all the ways humans have learned to take flight. Challenger Learning Center, Toledo Public Schools Aviation Center, Toledo Weak Signals R/C Club, Imagination Station and more flight experts will share hands-on fun, plus our own Education staff presents the Science of Flight show at our Indoor Theatre.

Zoo members Sunday April 6th pay only $1 for the Weak Signals Radio Control Model Exposition at SeaGate Centre 9 AM to 2 PM.  Friday April 4th and Saturday April 5th get $2 off a regular $10 ticket.  See over 200 exhibitors from all over the world with radio control model airplane, boat and car products.  Also see over 100 models in static competition covering the main floor of SeaGate Centre. Imagination Station


Come visit with Imagination Station at the Zoo and discover the four forces of flight: lift, drag, thrust, and gravity. Visitors will design hoop gliders, copters, and more while they discover how changing their designs will affect flight. 

Challenger Learning Center

Activities taking place in Nature’s Neighborhood on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
• Water rocket demos in the Backyard
• Bird enrichment projects in the Workshop
• Discover flight through activities and crafts utilizing paper airplanes, mini-helicopters, recycled kites, bubbles and more!

Other activities include:
• Master Kite flying demonstrations taking place in our Africa! exhibit
• Toledo Public Schools Aviation School will be on hand with displays and a real flight simulator
• Challenger Learning Center will be out with dynamic Interactive Flight Specialists and plenty of rocket science
• Weak Signals remote control airplane displays
