SEPTEMBER 19, 2020

Join the Toledo Zoo in celebrating Mother Earth and exemplifying our mission of being advocates for wildlife and conserving the natural world during Party for the Planet!

Drop off your recyclable goods – including hard-to-recycle items– between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Zoo’s Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot. Admission/parking charges do not apply to this special recycling project, which is made possible through partnerships with: Goodwill, AIM Ecycling, LLC., KTLCB/Lucas County Waste Management, City of Toledo Department of Neighbors, American Paint Recyclers, Gateway Recycling and Waste Reduction, Inc., and TerraCycle.

We will also celebrate the Zoo’s conservation projects! We will have educators at exhibits interacting and informing guests about our conservation projects, and how they can get involved. It truly is a team effort!

The NW Ohio Damage Prevention Council and Columbia Gas of Ohio are partnering with the Zoo for this year’s event. The council will donate and plant a tree to help the Zoo celebrate Mother Earth. Walk through OHIO811’s interactive educational trailer and learn about the utility lines that lie beneath your feet, possibly in your own backyard. They will have activity sheets and crayons for the kids to take home as a reminder for parents to Call 811 Before You Dig!
